Virginia is the founder and creator of Holistic Yoga Sangha and The Studio.
The Holistic Yoga Sangha name and logo reflects all of you, all of us, together, using the wonderful ‘flower of life’ yantra and its inter connectivity as our metaphor.
Holistic ~ considers the whole person, body, mind, spirit, and emotions, in the quest for optimal health, wellness and balance in life.
Yoga ~ union, joining and connection of body, mind, spirit, or between beings and nature. Connection between all things including the material and non material and with a higher power than ourselves.
Sangha ~ a community of individuals who come together with a common spiritual purpose, philosophy or approach to practice, live and work together and help with one another in terms of life, their goals and their practice.
So, welcome to our Holistic Yoga Sangha.
Virginia Compton teaches Yoga classes and workshops, leads retreats and offers massage therapy at various lovely venues in Devon (and occasionally further afield), sharing her passion for the Holistic Yoga lifestyle. Everyone who joins us on this journey is welcomed as part of the ‘Sangha’ or Holistic Yoga community.
“I want you to fall in love with Yoga as a practice, a philosophy, a lifestyle”.
In my own practice I incorporate the Yoga teachings as well as Ayurveda, using a physical Yoga (hatha) practice, breathing (pranayama) and meditation as well as massage therapies and healthy vegetarian cookery to enhance the whole life experience.
My focus is on the psychological as well as the physical effects of Yoga, using this therapeutically within Yoga classes or on a one to one basis. My classes are sometimes challenging but always a balanced practice with room for individuals to explore their own capabilities and to work within their limitations.
